Turn it on
- Sign in to the same Apple Account on each Mac.
- In Open Arc, open Settings ▸ Account and turn on Sync Sidebar.
- Do the same on your other Macs.
Changes usually appear on your other Macs within seconds.
What syncs
Your Spaces with their names, themes and icons, pinned tabs, folders, Favorites, Today tabs, split views and the archive.
Not synced: Profiles, cookies, signed-in sessions, passwords, history and extensions. Each Mac keeps its own.
Where your data goes
Sync uses your own private database in iCloud (Apple CloudKit). There is no Open Arc server and no Open Arc account, and the developers cannot read your data. Names and colors you choose are additionally encrypted before they are stored. See the Privacy Policy.
Turn it off
Turn off Sync Sidebar in Settings ▸ Account. Your sidebar stays on this Mac as it is.
If something does not sync
- Check that both Macs use the same Apple Account and that iCloud is available (System Settings ▸ Apple Account ▸ iCloud).
- Settings ▸ Account shows the sync status and any error.
- Help ▸ Restore Data brings back the sidebar as it was on one of the last seven days, if a change went wrong.
