# Move from Arc or another browser

> Bring your Spaces, pinned tabs and Favorites from Arc, or your bookmarks from Chrome, Safari and other browsers.

## Import from Arc

Open Arc reads the sidebar file of Arc on the same Mac. It only reads it: Arc and its data are never changed.

1. Choose **Open Arc ▸ Import from Another Browser…**, or use the import step of the welcome screens.
2. Choose **Arc**.
3. Review what will be imported and confirm.

What comes over:

- Spaces, with their theme colors and supported icons
- Pinned tabs and nested folders
- Favorites
- Today tabs
- Split views

Items Open Arc does not recognize may be skipped. Arc's Boosts, Notes, Live Folders and AI features have no counterpart in Open Arc.

> Passwords, cookies and history are not imported from Arc. Sign in to your sites again, or export your passwords from Arc and import them in Settings ▸ Profiles ▸ Passwords.

## Import from Chrome, Safari and others

Open Arc imports bookmarks from Chrome, Safari, Brave, Edge, Chromium and Vivaldi. Choose **Open Arc ▸ Import from Another Browser…** and pick the browser and, where it has several, the profile.

## After importing

- Your imported Spaces appear in the dock at the bottom of the sidebar. Switch with `⌃1`–`⌃9`.
- Give a Space its own Profile if you want its sign-ins kept apart. See [Profiles](/help/profiles).
- Turn on iCloud sync to bring the same sidebar to your other Macs. See [Syncing between Macs](/help/sync).
